How to make Stained Glass-Foil

Remember, I’m just explaining the steps for a conventional stain glass. Later I’ll show you other ways or techniques that may be easier but once you know the basics of stain glass, there will be no obstacle in your way to creating with any medium. Before I talk about how to solder stained glass you will need to foil each glass pieces. The foil is what lets solder hold all the pieces of glass together, that and the help of a little flux.
Foil does not stick to dusty or dirty surface, therefore, you will need to clean and wash the glass you’ve just finished grinding. You’ll take every piece and foil each all around the edge, making sure that the ends overlap. Your foil should be wider than the glass, so you will have a little extra sticking out on both sides of the edge. You will then fold that extra foil back onto each side. You will then use a burnisher, wooden scraper or crimper to flatten the foil tight to stick tightly to your surface.
